Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one go without having to swap out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a low cost, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can also view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. robot vacuum hoover includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It comes with a mop that is excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a good method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There are many options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with several functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
